Evidence-led route update
Frigidaire HVAC date-code evidence
If you need to estimate a Frigidaire HVAC unit’s manufacture age, verify the HVAC label rather than assuming an appliance serial format.
Keep HVAC Frigidaire separate from appliance serials
A widely used style places a two-digit year in positions 4–5 and a two-digit month in positions 6–7. Frigidaire HVAC is represented in the Nortek family by the verified year/month block in characters 4–7. That is different from unrelated Frigidaire appliance numbering. Frigidaire HVAC is represented by the Nortek family, where the verified year/month block sits in characters 4–7. The equipment category on the plate matters because unrelated Frigidaire appliances use different identification systems.
Worked example: GBB030708229
GBB030708229 — The verified decoder reads this fixture as July 2003. The date is a manufacture estimate, not an installation date.
When a Frigidaire label identifies another manufacturing family
A brand name alone cannot select an HVAC date rule. If the plate is not central HVAC or the serial does not fit the Nortek positions, use the full label and official support instead of adapting an appliance pattern.
Model number vs. serial number
Use the HVAC model for product-family and parts context; use the serial for age and provide both to Nortek support. Check the furnace, outdoor cabinet, air handler, or packaged-unit plate and retain the complete serial for an official confirmation.
Limits and official support
Frigidaire-branded equipment can come from different manufacturing families. If the result affects warranty, registration, parts, safety, or replacement decisions, use the complete model and serial with the manufacturer or a qualified professional. SerialAtlas is an independent reference, not an official warranty lookup or warranty coverage decision.
Open Frigidaire HVAC support routeHow to read a Frigidaire HVAC serial number
A widely used style places a two-digit year in positions 4–5 and a two-digit month in positions 6–7. SerialAtlas removes spacing and punctuation, then applies only the documented rule families mapped to Frigidaire HVAC. The lookup remains in the browser.
Equipment covered
- air conditioners
- heat pumps
- furnaces
- air handlers
- manufactured-home systems
Commercial, imported, very old, specialty, and private-label equipment can use a different code. Confirm the full rating plate before accepting a result.
Where to find the rating plate
- Outdoor condenser or heat-pump cabinet, usually near the service valves
- Inside the furnace or air-handler access panel
- On the packaged-unit rating plate
- Near the electrical disconnect or wiring diagram
Why more than one date can appear
Two-digit years and repeating letter cycles can point to more than one era. SerialAtlas ranks the plausible dates but keeps materially different alternatives visible. Label design, refrigerant, installation records, and product literature can resolve the era.

A manufacture date is not an installation date, warranty decision, recall match, condition assessment, or replacement recommendation. Confirm high-stakes decisions with the manufacturer or a qualified professional.
