Nordyne and Nortek

Nordyne, now part of Nortek Global HVAC, supplied many regional, manufactured-home, and private-label systems. The label name and the current parent-company name may differ, so record the exact brand printed on the equipment.

Nortek, Miller, Intertherm, and other related labels can share a rule family, but a shared family is not proof that every old, imported, or private-label unit has the same serial layout.

Nordyne serial number date code

A widely used Nordyne-family style places the two-digit year in characters 4–5 and the two-digit month in characters 6–7. The rest of the serial remains part of the unit identifier.

In the documented-style example GBB030708229, characters 4–5 are 03 and characters 6–7 are 07. SerialAtlas treats that position-based read as a possible July 2003 result under its current date window; confirm the equipment era from the label and records.

Model number vs. serial number

Use the serial number for the manufacture-date estimate. Use the model number to identify the product family and configuration when requesting parts, support, or a warranty review.

SerialAtlas does not publish a universal Nordyne model-number decoder here. Read the complete model and serial from the rating plate and use Nortek documentation or support for model-specific specifications.

Warranty and registration limits

The serial date is not a warranty decision. Coverage may depend on the specific Nordyne/Nortek product, registration, ownership, installation, terms, and manufacturer records.

Use the result to identify the likely product era, then confirm warranty status with Nortek Global HVAC or an authorized professional. SerialAtlas does not guarantee eligibility or coverage duration.

How to read a Nordyne serial number

A widely used style places a two-digit year in positions 4–5 and a two-digit month in positions 6–7. SerialAtlas removes spacing and punctuation, then applies only the documented rule families mapped to Nordyne. The lookup remains in the browser.

Equipment covered

  • air conditioners
  • heat pumps
  • furnaces
  • air handlers
  • manufactured-home systems

Commercial, imported, very old, specialty, and private-label equipment can use a different code. Confirm the full rating plate before accepting a result.

Where to find the rating plate

  • Outdoor condenser or heat-pump cabinet, usually near the service valves
  • Inside the furnace or air-handler access panel
  • On the packaged-unit rating plate
  • Near the electrical disconnect or wiring diagram

Why more than one date can appear

Two-digit years and repeating letter cycles can point to more than one era. SerialAtlas ranks the plausible dates but keeps materially different alternatives visible. Label design, refrigerant, installation records, and product literature can resolve the era.

What this result does not prove

A manufacture date is not an installation date, warranty decision, recall match, condition assessment, or replacement recommendation. Confirm high-stakes decisions with the manufacturer or a qualified professional.
